PALM

I am tremendously excited about going on the PALM (Pedal Across Lower Michigan) tour this coming week. Tomorrow I will drive to Saugatuck, where it starts, and transfer our car to Michelle (there with friends). We have a group meeting about the ride tomorrow night, and then camp overnight and begin riding Sunday morning. Then, between Sunday and next Friday, we will ride roughly 250 miles across the state, from Lake Michigan to Lake Erie. I hope to be able to post status updates and pictures a few times, but do not expect to be able to update my triking blog while on the trip.

  1. Dear Allan, How exciting! Nice looking tent. Please let me know if you need anything. I have large duffel bags, thick self-inflating backpacking sleeping pads, and fold up chairs that will fit in the duffel bag. Don't forget ear plugs (for snoring neighbors), Advil to control joint and muscle pain at night, and plastic bags to keep your clothes dry, in the event of an afternoon thunderstorm while your bag is out in the parking let. One year we had to drive to a laundry mat to dry everything. Also, look for my friend Joe Olensnavage, he is on PALM staff, and has been on the ride for 30 years. He'll be riding a tandom with his young nephew. Good luck and text me at 972-1092 today if you need a duffel bag, sleeping pad, or anything else. rob
