Today I had hoped to ride three round trips to Marsh Park. But, as I wrote recently, each day's ride seems to have a unique or peculiar aspect, and that held true today, too. Shortly after the midway point of my second round trip, I began feeling pain/tenderness in the inside of my left leg, just below the knee (though no traumatic incident caused this). Given the situation with the leg, as I thought on it, it seemed prudent to me to push myself for neither speed nor for distance, so I scaled back and settled for two round trips, finishing the 18 miles in 2:16. (Grammar note: I was taught that one should always pair either-or /or/ neither-nor.)
Cutting it short may have been providential guidance, as the forecast once I finished was for scattered thundershowers to begin any time, and as I sit here now, writing, I hear thunder rumbling. When I began, at 9:30, it was 63°, and by the end it had heated up to 70°. Once again, I fought a healthy wind today—when I finished, it measured at 22 mph from the southwest.
