I had wanted to ride three round trips to Marsh Park today. But after my leg pain yesterday, my friend Doug (the guy who got me started on cycling a few years ago) recommended that I back off a bit for a few days. I figured if I was not 100% certain, it would be better to err on the side of caution, so for the second straight day, I did consecutive round trips, completing the 18 miles in 2:09.
The great news was that I felt no pain or discomfort whatsoever at any point today. And I rode in quintessential spring weather—58° when I set out at 9:30, 63° when I finished, with a nice mix of sun and clouds, and no precipitation at all. Weather.com told me that when I finished, the wind was from the west at 15 mph, but I didn't feel it today.
