What a day! One would almost be inclined to call it "summery." When I left for my ride at 11:15, it was sunny and 66°; when I finished, the sunshine persisted, and it had climbed to 73°! And it's supposed to top 80° later this afternoon.
It resulted in rather a slow ride, however. I did a single round trip to Marsh Park, finishing the 10 miles in a glacial time of 1:26. There were two reasons for this. One was that the wind was more daunting than I had expected; coming from the south southeast (the overall direction toward which I am traveling as I go to the park), it ranged from 12 (al the start) to 16 (finish) miles per hour.
The other factor was the temperature, however. This may sound silly, but it's going to take some getting used to. On the whole, I think I'd prefer riding in 40° conditions to 70°. But, just as the beginning of the winter I had to tell myself, "It's going to get a lot colder before this is done!", so now I have to remind myself, "Much hotter days are ahead!"
